brickmoney – Terms of Use
Version: 1.0
Last updated: 19 October 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to brickmoney.
brickmoney is an independent software application designed to help BrickLink sellers analyze their inventory, understand market conditions and make informed pricing decisions.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the brickmoney application ("App"), provided by Michael Holzhacker ("we", "us" or "our").
By accepting these Terms, you agree to the conditions described below.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.
Where applicable, these Terms supplement the license terms governing the App's distribution through Apple's App Store. Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
2. Purpose of brickmoney
brickmoney combines inventory information with available market data to provide strategic pricing guidance for BrickLink sellers.
The App analyzes historical sales, current market listings and relevant inventory information to identify potential pricing adjustments.
Its features include market analysis, suggested target prices, pricing strategies, portfolio comparisons and tools for preparing price updates.
brickmoney is designed to support better-informed pricing decisions while keeping users in full control of their stores.
The App provides analytical guidance rather than binding pricing instructions. Users remain responsible for determining which recommendations best suit their individual business circumstances.
brickmoney is a pricing and market analysis tool, not an accounting, tax or investment advisory service.
3. Market Data and Calculation Accuracy
brickmoney is designed to provide reliable, data-driven pricing guidance based on available market information.
We take care to ensure the quality and consistency of our analytical methods and calculations.
However, the usefulness of any market analysis depends on the underlying data. Information obtained from third-party sources may occasionally be incomplete, outdated or inconsistent.
Market conditions can also change between the time information is collected and the time a pricing decision is made.
Although we continually aim to maintain reliable software, occasional technical errors, calculation inaccuracies or unexpected results cannot be entirely excluded.
Users should therefore consider the available data, market context and their individual circumstances when evaluating suggested prices.
brickmoney provides informed pricing guidance, not a universally applicable selling price for every individual transaction.
Nothing in this section limits statutory rights relating to defects or non-conformity of the App.
4. Responsibility for Pricing Decisions
The final decision regarding any selling price always remains with the user.
brickmoney identifies pricing opportunities and suggests target prices based on its analytical methodology and the selected pricing strategy.
These suggestions are intended to inform, rather than replace, the user's own commercial judgment.
Users are responsible for deciding whether a proposed price is appropriate for their inventory, business objectives and individual circumstances.
brickmoney never directly or automatically changes prices or inventory information in a user's BrickLink store.
Any actual price adjustment requires a deliberate action by the user, including when using exported price update files.
This ensures that users retain control over which recommendations they choose to implement.
5. Costs and Profitability
Every BrickLink store operates under different economic conditions.
Acquisition costs, operating expenses, required profit margins and individual pricing objectives can vary significantly between sellers.
brickmoney focuses on market-based pricing and does not currently incorporate individual acquisition costs or the complete cost structure of a user's business into its pricing recommendations.
Factors outside the pricing calculation include, among others:
- Product acquisition and replacement costs.
- BrickLink marketplace and payment processing fees.
- Shipping, packaging and handling expenses.
- Taxes, customs duties and other applicable charges.
- Storage costs and business overhead.
- Individual minimum margins and profitability requirements.
As a result, a suggested target price may be below a user's original purchase price or total selling cost.
Users should consider these expenses before applying a recommended price, particularly when evaluating potential price reductions.
A market-based target price is not the same as an individually profitable selling price.
brickmoney helps users understand their market positioning. Determining profitability remains part of the user's own business decisions.
6. Factors Influencing Actual Sales
Market-based pricing is an important element of selling successfully, but it is not the only factor influencing purchasing decisions.
Actual sales performance depends on a combination of market conditions, buyer preferences and individual store characteristics.
Relevant factors may include:
- Seller location and geographical market.
- Shipping costs, shipping options and delivery times.
- The size, variety and availability of a store's inventory.
- Minimum order values and purchasing conditions.
- Seller reputation, ratings and customer service.
- Product condition, completeness and presentation.
- Competition, buyer preferences and changing demand.
- Seasonal influences and broader market developments.
Not all of these factors are reflected in the available BrickLink market information or incorporated into brickmoney's calculations.
A suggested price represents a market-based assessment, not a prediction of how a particular buyer will behave.
Consequently, an item may sell above, below or at its suggested target price, or may not sell within a particular period.
7. Sales and Commercial Results
brickmoney is designed to help sellers identify relevant pricing opportunities and make more informed decisions about their inventory.
The App does not promise a specific increase in sales, revenue, inventory turnover or profitability.
A higher price may improve the potential margin of a transaction while reducing demand. A lower price may attract additional interest but can also reduce the profitability of a sale.
The relationship between pricing and actual sales depends on many factors that cannot be fully represented in a market analysis.
Users should therefore view recommendations as strategic guidance rather than guaranteed commercial outcomes.
Historical sales information provides useful market context but does not establish what customers will purchase in the future.
8. Understanding brickmoney Metrics
brickmoney provides several analytical indicators to help users understand and prioritize pricing opportunities.
These include brickmoney target prices, brickmoney scores, portfolio pricing comparisons and brickmoney value.
Each indicator serves a specific analytical purpose.
brickmoney target price represents the suggested selling price derived from the available market information and the user's selected pricing strategy.
brickmoney score helps prioritize potential pricing adjustments within the analyzed inventory. It does not represent a probability of sale, product quality rating or profitability forecast.
brickmoney value describes the calculated monetary positioning of the relevant inventory at brickmoney target prices compared with the corresponding six-month market pricing benchmark. It is not an estimate of additional profit or guaranteed future revenue.
Portfolio and store values describe calculated inventory values under their respective pricing assumptions. Depending on the metric and available market data, certain inventory positions may be excluded from a particular comparison.
Users should interpret these indicators according to their intended purpose and the market information on which they are based.
9. Current Market Pricing and Future Values
brickmoney focuses on current-market pricing.
Its purpose is to help sellers evaluate suitable selling prices using available historical sales information and current market conditions.
The App is not designed to predict the future value of collectible products.
LEGO parts, minifigures, sets and other collectibles may appreciate or depreciate over time due to changes in demand, availability, product releases, reissues and other market developments.
Users who prefer to retain certain products for potential future appreciation may choose to disregard the corresponding pricing recommendations.
brickmoney supports current pricing decisions without attempting to determine the long-term investment potential of individual products.
10. BrickLink and Third-Party Services
brickmoney is an independent application that uses the official BrickLink API to retrieve relevant information.
brickmoney is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by BrickLink or the LEGO Group.
BrickLink and other third-party platforms maintain their own terms of use, API policies, technical requirements and access restrictions.
Users must ensure that they are authorized to access the BrickLink accounts and API credentials they connect to the App.
Users are responsible for complying with the rules applicable to their own accounts, marketplace activities and authorized API usage.
BrickLink may update its API rules, technical specifications, access policies or permitted usage conditions.
Such changes may affect the availability or functionality of certain brickmoney features.
Users are expected to observe the currently applicable rules, including any changes that may not yet be reflected in the App.
If a user becomes aware that a particular feature conflicts with applicable BrickLink requirements, they should discontinue the affected activity and contact our support team.
brickmoney remains responsible for meeting the legal and contractual obligations applicable to it as the App provider.
We may adapt, restrict or discontinue affected functionality where reasonably necessary to maintain compliance with third-party requirements, subject to applicable law.
11. API Access and Credentials
To access certain features, users must connect their BrickLink account using valid API credentials.
These credentials must belong to an account that the user is authorized to access.
brickmoney is designed to store BrickLink API credentials securely on the user's device and use them to retrieve authorized data.
Users are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to protect their devices, credentials and BrickLink accounts from unauthorized access.
The App includes technical controls intended to manage API requests and reduce unnecessary usage.
These safeguards support responsible API access but do not replace the applicable requirements imposed by BrickLink.
Users must not use brickmoney to circumvent access restrictions, retrieve unauthorized information or misuse third-party services.
12. Pricing Exports and External Applications
brickmoney may provide export functions for BrickLink, BrickStore, Excel and other supported formats.
These functions are designed to simplify pricing workflows and help users prepare and review suggested adjustments.
Exported files may contain pricing information or suggested updates based on the selected pricing strategy and available market data.
Generating an export does not change any prices in the user's BrickLink store.
The user remains responsible for deciding whether and when an exported file should be imported into BrickLink or another application.
Before applying an export, users should verify the proposed prices, relevant item information and compatibility with the receiving software.
This is particularly important when importing files that may affect multiple inventory positions.
Users are encouraged to maintain appropriate inventory backups before performing substantial bulk updates.
Third-party applications may change their file formats, import procedures or technical requirements. Such changes can affect the compatibility of exported files.
brickmoney aims to provide compatible exports for its supported workflows but cannot control how independent third-party applications process or apply imported information.
13. brickmoney pro and Subscriptions
brickmoney offers free functionality and optional advanced features through brickmoney pro.
Available subscription plans, billing periods, prices and included features are displayed in the App before purchase.
Subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store are processed through Apple's applicable payment and subscription management systems.
Unless otherwise specified in the purchase offer, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Users can manage or cancel their subscriptions through their Apple account subscription settings.
Cancellation normally prevents future renewals, while existing access may continue until the end of the current billing period, subject to the applicable subscription conditions.
Refunds, withdrawal rights and other billing matters are governed by applicable law and the relevant App Store procedures.
brickmoney pro provides access to additional analytical and workflow functionality. It does not change the user's responsibility for individual pricing decisions.
We may update the range of available features as the App evolves, subject to applicable contractual and consumer protection requirements.
Nothing in these Terms restricts mandatory statutory rights relating to subscriptions or digital services.
14. Data Storage, Synchronization and Privacy
brickmoney is designed around local data processing.
Inventory information, market data, user preferences and other relevant information may be stored locally on the user's device.
Where supported and enabled, selected information may also be synchronized through Apple's iCloud services.
Cloud synchronization depends on external infrastructure, network availability, device settings and the user's Apple account.
Temporary synchronization delays, technical interruptions or conflicting data states may occasionally occur.
Users are encouraged to maintain suitable independent backups of commercially important information.
Certain optional features allow users to prepare diagnostic information and share feedback with brickmoney support.
For example, the Weird Pricing feature can prepare encrypted diagnostic reports containing relevant market and calculation information. Sending such reports requires a deliberate user action.
Detailed information about the processing of personal data, data storage, synchronization and applicable privacy rights is provided in the separate brickmoney Privacy Policy.
15. Availability and Software Updates
We aim to provide a reliable and continuously improving application.
To maintain compatibility, performance and security, brickmoney may receive updates that improve existing features, correct defects or adapt the App to changing technical requirements.
Some functions depend on third-party services, including BrickLink, Apple and other platform providers.
Availability may occasionally be affected by maintenance, network interruptions, API restrictions or technical changes outside our direct control.
We may modify, restrict or discontinue individual features where reasonably necessary for technical, security, legal or operational reasons.
Material changes affecting paid services will be handled in accordance with applicable contractual and consumer protection requirements.
Although we strive to maintain consistent availability, uninterrupted operation of every feature cannot be assured.
16. Acceptable Use and Intellectual Property
brickmoney is intended for lawful inventory analysis and pricing activities.
Users may use the App only in ways that comply with applicable laws, these Terms and relevant third-party requirements.
The App must not be used to gain unauthorized access to accounts, circumvent security measures, overload external systems or unlawfully collect or redistribute protected information.
The original software, branding, interface design, analytical methods and other proprietary elements of brickmoney are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Use of the App does not transfer ownership of these proprietary elements to the user.
Third-party names, trademarks and data remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.
Nothing in these Terms restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Liability and Statutory Rights
We take reasonable care in developing and maintaining brickmoney and aim to provide reliable analytical tools for informed pricing decisions.
At the same time, users acknowledge that market analysis involves uncertainty and that individual commercial decisions depend on circumstances beyond the scope of the App.
Users remain responsible for evaluating their own costs, business objectives and the suitability of any suggested price before implementing a change.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for commercial outcomes arising solely from independent user pricing decisions, market fluctuations or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
In particular, the provision of market-based pricing guidance does not constitute a promise of a specific level of sales, revenue, profitability or business performance.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Mandatory statutory warranties, remedies concerning defective or non-conforming digital services, consumer protection rights and other non-waivable rights remain fully unaffected.
Any limitation of liability applies exclusively to the extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Suspension and Termination
Users may stop using brickmoney at any time.
Uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled through the applicable subscription management system.
We may restrict access to particular features where reasonably necessary to address security concerns, misuse, legal obligations or third-party compliance requirements.
Where reasonably possible and appropriate, users will be informed of material restrictions affecting paid services.
Any suspension, termination or discontinuation remains subject to applicable statutory and contractual rights.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to brickmoney, applicable laws, third-party requirements or our operating practices.
The latest version will be made available through the App or the official brickmoney website.
Where required by law, users will receive appropriate notice of material changes and an opportunity to accept updated terms where necessary.
Changes will not remove mandatory statutory rights or otherwise affect existing contractual rights in a manner prohibited by applicable law.
20. Governing Law and Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply in the user's country of habitual residence.
Any dispute shall be resolved before the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms deprives consumers of mandatory rights regarding applicable law or competent courts.
